Mowyad Khalid, MD,
FACR

Dr. Khalid is a compassionate, board-certified rheumatologist dedicated to delivering personalized, patient-centered care. He believes that strong communication between physician and patient is the foundation of effective treatment and works closely with each individual to tailor management plans to their unique needs, goals, and lifestyle.

Grew up in Sudan, Dr. Khalid completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University, where his clinical excellence and leadership earned him selection as Chief Resident. In this role, he was actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents—a commitment he continues today through ongoing involvement in resident education and clinical teaching.

He went on to complete his Rheumatology Fellowship one of the best hospitals in the country, the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis / Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where he received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex rheumatologic diseases. During his training, he also provided care for veterans at Veterans Affairs hospitals in both Detroit and St. Louis, gaining extensive experience managing diverse and challenging cases.

Dr. Khalid has received multiple awards recognizing his excellence in clinical care and medical education. He has several research publications and remains interested in the advancing rheumatologic knowledge. He is a member of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr.Khalid is affiliated with RWJ Clara Maass Hospital, Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Hospital (HMMC), and serves on the teaching faculty of the HMMC Internal Medicine Residency Program.

His clinical interests include Vasculitis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Polymyalgia Rheumatica,Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Psoriatic Arthritis.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Khalid enjoys watching the Brooklyn Nets, football and reading thriller novels.
